Official welcome for Synergy borehole drilling team at St Stephens Church, Lympne

« back

28th August 2009

Many of the residents of Lympne, together with media representatives turned out on a blustery August afternoon to hear Sandra Howard, wife of the ex conservative leader Michael Howard and Patron of the church refurbishment project, officially welcome the arrival of our drill rig and the commencement of geothermal borehole drilling at the 12th century (1100-1110) norman Church of St Stephens in Lympne.

Synergy will be drilling 4*112.5 m boreholes in the churchyard and installing the geothermal loops as part of the church renovation project which includes the very welcome introduction of underfloor heating.

Speaking to the Church Council and representatives of Synergy before the assembled crowd, Sandra Howard, sporting a fashionable Synergy luminous safety jacket, said how pleased she was to see this very tangible sign that the renovation of the church was moving forward.

Update: Drilling of the boreholes is now completed, the geothermal loops are fitted and have been successfully pressure tested and grouted.
