Conditions of Employment
The jobholder will be employed by Synergy Boreholes and Systems Ltd. and report directly to the owner and manager of the company, Antony Jennings.
The job will be paid monthly in arrears at an annual rate of £ (To be agreed)
Jobholder will work on average five days per working week but must be willing to occasionally work on Saturdays if the situation demands. Daily working hours will be flexible but based on a working day of eight hours.
Jobholder will often be required to work on site, away from home, for up to several days at a time. In this case B&B accommodation will be provided at company expense.
Jobholder will be required to drive support vehicles to site locations and must therefore possess a valid, clean driving license.
Jobholder must wear company logo overalls (provided by company)
Jobholder will be entitled to the statutory sickness benefits and Bank Holidays plus 20 working days holiday, the dates of which must be agreed with Antony Jennings.
There will be a trial period of six months during which either party can terminate the working relationship with one working weeks notice. Thereafter both parties will be required to give one months notice.
Jobholder will assist and act upon the instructions of the lead man (usually Antony Jennings) in all the tasks associated with the core business of the company, i.e.
a) Drilling and fitting out water boreholes for the provision of garden irrigation and/or domestic drinking water.
b) Drilling and equipping geothermal boreholes
These activities will be executed outdoors, throughout the year, in all weathers.
The major task components are:- assisting the lead driller with the operation of the drilling rig and handling of the drilling tools involved.
Setting up and operation of ancillary equipment, mud-pumps, compressors, grouting machines etc.
Transportation and disposal of drilling wastes. Handling and installation of all borehole equipment, liner, casing, pumps, packing, gravel, geothermal loops, grouting etc.
Installation of wellhead components, pipe-work, fittings, controls etc.
Assisting lead man with installation of domestic garden irrigation, water filtration and purification units
Cleaning up after borehole completion, loading of all equipment and tools onto transport vehicles
At Company Industrial Unit.
Jobholder will act on instructions of lead man in all housekeeping tasks, e.g. cleaning and stowing away of equipment and tools, stock-keeping etc. Cleaning of vehicles etc.
Jobholder will be responsible for pre-assembly of wellhead units, filtration units and irrigation components
Jobholder will at all times act to preserve and promote the good reputation of the company.
All enquiries from third parties or customers will be passed on to the lead man.
Jobholder will at all times observe and obey all safety instructions and wear all the necessary safety gear provided.
