Antony Jennings

Founder and Managing Director of Synergy Boreholes and Systems Ltd. Antony developed clean and efficient drilling systems for GSHP boreholes using managed mud control and separation units for use in domestic environments. This scaled down ‘Oil Field’ drilling technique is now used for each of the rigs at Synergy and is widely used in the GSHP drilling sector.

Synergy is now in the process of designing and manufacturing a small scale <3500KG unit with refined mud processing. This will solely be used for Synergy contracts.

Ian Foll

Ian joined the AWGroup in 2007 to lead the company’s sustainability agenda. As Managing Director of AWRenewables and AWEnergy, Ian secured the planning consents for 3 wind energy projects, a solar farm, chaired the South Leighton Linslade Exemplar Transport project and drove the Company’s vision to make a positive difference in the environment.

In 2021, Ian led the acquisition of a majority stake in Synergy Boreholes and became Chairman. In 2022, Ian retired from his full-time roles in AW Group and remains involved, as a non-executive in AW Synergy Boreholes.

Adam Krol

Adam joined AWSynergy in July 2022, following a career within the Electronics & Manufacturing sectors.

Having spent 16 years within 2 leading component OEMs, Adam held a variety of Business Development & Sales Leadership positions focused on both revenue and market growth.

One of note was the emergence of the digitalisation of Medical devices, where he played a leading role creating and implementing a sales strategy which resulted in working with global Pharmaceutical & Device organisations.

Adam has assumed the position as Head of Sales for AWSynergy, to promote the company’s services across the UK, to create and build new and existing customer relationships, support with funding available to the Public & Private Sectors, and ultimately aid the rapid growing market of Geothermal Ground Source Heat Pump technology, aligned with the UK’s focus on low carbon & net zero targets.

Darren Deasy

Darren comes from an operations background. In his last role, Darren was a key member of a team which grew a small family business from small beginnings to being sold for over £10m.

Darren is now pushing Synergy to new heights and improving overall performance.

Roger Broad

Joined Synergy March 2009

Roger is in charge of overall health and safety and quality standards.

Roger served for a long time in the Royal Engineers (drilling) and spent some time working with the Comacchio rig importer.

Chris Duncan

Joined Synergy January 2011

Chris has been a first man on the rigs for 7 years and is now the workshop manager with extensive mechanical knowledge.

Chris’ experience in drilling is second to none.

Jon Tarry

Jon has extensive knowledge in moving large plant from A to B, even in the tightest locations and restricted sites.

Thomas Green

Tom has been trained by both manufacturers and to EUSR standards and is a very capable welder.

Darren Lord

Darren has been in the industry for over 20 years and is trained to EUSR standards. Working mainly in the utilities sector, Darren is able to advise on design as well as construct.

Andy Horsfield

Andy has been drilling for over 15 years and knows his way around most rigs.

Lee Porter

Lee has been drilling over 15 years and is our Lead driller on the new 909GT’s.

He has extensive closed loop drilling knowledge and is a real asset to the drilling team.

Joshua Webb

Josh is a great problem solver and loves challenging geology. He has worked as a second man on the large 900GT rigs and worked his way up to a lead driller on the 602’s.

Sam Wills

Sam keeps everything moving forwards on site, problem solving and also managing the job until handover. He has an eye for detail and loves to see the job through to completion.

Mariusz Kowalski

Mariusz is an extremely capable driller. Starting as a second man and then on to a lead driller on one of the largest rigs, Mariusz has a fantastic work ethic and is results driven.

Dan Jones

Dan was initially trained as a second man but soon progressed to a lead driller. Now on the 602 Dan is a clean and efficient driller.

Darren Purdy

Darren is one of our fitters and can turn his hand to anything. There isn’t a rig out there he can’t fix.

Gareth Woolley

Gareth is a lead driller on one of our new bespoke 909GT rigs.  Great to have on large sites where production drilling in short time frames is needed.

Josh Joyce

Josh has been drilling for over 10 years and has recently taken on the new Desco 6500R rig. Running a 3 man team and managing his job sites in a clean and efficient way, Josh is in high demand on many of our sites.

Ned Mahony

Ned is the second man on the new 6500R rig and is committed to helping keep a clean and efficient site.

Michal Kaliszczak

Michal is a great asset to the team and has good mechanical knowledge.

He is in training to be a first man on one of the larger rigs.

David Silver

David is a committed driller who works well in tight access environments.

Michael Walker

Michael joined Synergy in 2001 and is working towards 1st man.

Alison Willis

Alison joined in 2022 and provides our finance team support with daily activities.
